Earl Grey Tea Macarons with Honey Buttercream Filling

This was my first try at macarons and I was thrilled that they turned out so well!
They had feet!!!!
These were amazingly good and they will be made again.

2 egg whites, at room temperature
5 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 cup. ground almonds
1 cup confectioners (powdered) sugar
1 tsp Earl Grey tea leaves

Notes*
This made about 15 -2″ diameter macarons, a nice small recipe.
Use whatever filling you like, anything goes, nutella, jam, ganache etc.
I should have added the dry ingredients in two portions instead of dumping it all in at once.
If you want to colour the macarons, add it to the dry ingredients after you mix the sugar and almonds together.
I had lots of buttercream left over, so I suggest making twice as many macarons or halving the buttercream recipe.

Here is the website where I found the recipe:

Here is an excellent demonstration of the whole process:

great demo. thank you I think the electric burners are more manageable but I have a glass top stove so I use a double boiler (that is I put the custard ingredients into a stainless steel bowl and then place that over a pot of hot water) to cook the custard to avoid burning it.

Why is my almond meal so clunky even after I have sifted it?

Since I don't like milk, I'm going to substitute the milk for melted vanilla ice cream 😀 I want my macaroon to be vanilla so I'm using maple syrup instead oh honey!

I tried this recipe, but I left the macarons to dry for 1,5 hour and they were still not dry! They wouldn't rise in the oven either, so they had no feet at all.. tasted heavenly though, but I think the acidity in the tea ruined the batter.

Alguien sabe como se llama la maquina que pone la masa de macarons en la bandeja?
Did somebody knows whats the name of the machine that puts the dough on the tray?

J'avais payé 1,30 euros pour un mini macaron framboise. Vu les conditions de fabrication, ca fait cher pour un macaron industriel.
